SVRI has an established history of conducting independent and collaborative applied research in the areas of disability and employment. Research studies SVRI focuses on include knowledge translation (i.e. "research-to-practice"), health and employment, vocational rehabilitation systems, youth in transition, benefits counseling, asset development and poverty, and employment issues experienced by individuals with significant disabilities.

- Accelerated VR Training and Capacity Building Program
This program will provide an accelerated, short-term training option to enhance competencies specific to contemporary rehabilitation needs. - Disability Innovation Fund - Pathways to Partnerships Model Demonstration Project
The primary mission of this grant is to deliver national Technical Assistance (TA) to state model demonstration projects that are dedicated to establishing systemic approaches for transition services benefiting children and youth with disabilities. - Worker Connection Program
This program provides free navigation services to expand career opportunities at the local level. - Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center for Quality Employment (VRTAC-QE)
