I grew up in a small-town northeast of Menomonie! I am a proud dog mom to two energetic mutts that I rescued! Things I love to do include going hiking, reading, hanging with my family & friends, and traveling!
What is your advice for a new student?
Take a deep breath! College has so much to offer, and you will find where you belong!
What was your college major (and minor)?
Child, Youth, & Family Studies (Family & Consumer Sciences); Minor in Sociology
Why did you choose your college major?
I chose this major because I really loved my Family & Consumer Sciences teacher, so I wanted to do a similar role. In college, I realized teaching wasn’t for me and switch to the non-teaching option of the major. With this major, I was able to focus on social sciences and human services related learning and training which has helped me in my many roles within higher education!
What do you love most about UW-Stout?
I love that there is a lot of collaboration at UW-Stout and our common goal is to help students thrive at UW-Stout!
My favorite thing to do in Menomonie is…
I enjoy going to the local breweries as they give a small town feel and have nice areas to sit outside in the summer!
A random fact about me...
I did a whale watching excursion in Vancouver, Canada where a humpback whale decided to swim around and under our boat for over an hour. I got sprayed on by the whale and learned it was their mucous which is kind of gross! Overall, a very cool experience to see a whale that close!
