Ja Doul receives January University Staff Appreciation Award

Psychology and social science department assistant honored for 'professionalism, patience and a service-oriented mindset'

AJ Ja Doul, department assistant in psychology and social science, received the University Staff Appreciation Award for January 2026. 

The individual nominating Ja Doul stated, "AJ demonstrates an exceptional commitment to the university by ensuring the fundamental operations of our department run smoothly and efficiently. She is the vital backbone of our unit, managing complex, critical details that allow faculty and staff to focus on their primary responsibilities.

"Her dedication to organization and accuracy keeps the department operating at a high level. AJ consistently stands out in her core duties, which are ongoing projects critical to the department's success. This includes the precise and timely input of the department schedule and the expert management of all work orders, ensuring our physical environment is maintained.

"AJ has an exemplary attitude toward customers, students, department members and peers. She approaches every interaction with professionalism, patience and a service-oriented mindset. She is always willing to go the extra mile to provide support, making her a trusted and highly respected member of the department. AJ keeps our department running. Her attention to detail, proactive approach, and unwavering support are invaluable."

Each employee of the month receives a certificate of recognition and a gift presented by Chancellor Katherine Frank. The award, in its 21st year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
