University Police Officer Kevin Goodell received the University Staff Appreciation Award for October 2025.
The individual nominating him stated, “For 28 years, Kevin has served UW-Stout. He is a kind and compassionate officer who takes his job seriously and is the epitome of an officer who believes in the mission of our department to be available, accessible and approachable.
"At the spring 2025 commencement, Officer Goodell successfully performed CPR, saving an individual's life. He was in control of a stressful situation and handled it remarkably. This is the second time he has successfully performed CPR on campus. Kevin is always welcoming and empathetic toward all members of the campus and the community. He goes above and beyond to welcome everyone and say, 'hello.' He keeps the campus safe and is an incredible officer who continues to prove why campus law enforcement is important."
Each employee of the month receives a certificate of recognition and a gift presented by Chancellor Katherine Frank. The award, in its 21st year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
