Rebecca Rother, department assistant in the School of Art & Design, received the University Staff Appreciation Award for February 2026.
The individual nominating her stated, “Becca puts a lot of energy into supporting her department, students and her fellow university staff. She looks for ways to be more efficient and helpful and is always willing to help. She has a great attitude, is a joy to talk to, and lifts everyone's spirits with her good humor and kindness.
"Becca was instrumental during the change to Workday for administrative assistants. She worked tirelessly over the summer to help troubleshoot hiring processes and was a huge part of advocating for better training and support from administration. She also went above and beyond to train and assist other administrative staff on Workday hiring processes. Becca is friendly, solutions-minded, and always ready to help students and staff."
Each employee of the month receives a certificate of recognition and a gift presented by Chancellor Katherine Frank. The award, in its 21st year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
