Dr. Zheng is the recipient of the G. A. Taft Professorship at UW–Stout Polytechnic and the University of Wisconsin System Outstanding Woman of Color in Education Award. Dr. Zheng has completed more than 50 industry-sponsored technical projects and has published 35 peer-reviewed articles. Her current research focuses on polymer rheology and processing, reversible thermoset curing, and the sustainability of conventional plastics. She is an Honored Service Member of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and has served extensively in the SPE Applied Rheology Division. In 2025, she was named “Educator of the Year” by the SPE Milwaukee Section.
