Simonson receives University Staff Appreciation Award for March

Becky Simonson receives the award from Chancellor Bob Meyer.Becky Simonson has received the University Staff Employee Appreciation Award for March at University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Simonson, of Menomonie, is an associate in the mathematics, statistics and computer science department. She has worked at UW-Stout for 34 years.

Simonson’s nomination stated: “Becky has an amazing attitude. She is consistently positive and helpful with staff, students and visitors. She is the go-to person around here and always does it with a smile. Becky does an exceptional job serving our department, supervising student employees, managing budgets, being conscientious in challenging budget times, facilitating recruitments and maintaining the work space. She is highly organized and timely in all she does."

Chancellor Bob Meyer presents each winner with a certificate of recognition, a UW-Stout coffee mug and a check for $100.

Students, faculty and staff may nominate a university staff member who demonstrates a commitment to excellence and the university community. The award, now in its 11th year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office.
