Mission
UW-Stout's Business Department supports the mission and goals of the School of Management within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Management. Our mission, through effective and caring stewardship of students in and out of the classroom, and via cross-disciplinary collaborations in research and service to our community, is to facilitate student learning with interactive and participatory teaching, so that our graduates have every opportunity possible to enter successfully a global workforce or to pursue post-graduate studies.

The UW-Stout polytechnic campus is rich with concepts, innovations, and products. The physical and service infrastructures to support entrepreneurship include the Discovery Center, FabLab, Center for Innovation and Development, Made@Stout, 3DayStartup, Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament, and the expertise of faculty and students across campus in arts, industrial design, engineering, retail, fashion, languages, law, and much more.
Our Programs
B.S. Business Administration
Our Business Administration program will prepare you for a career in many areas of business including entrepreneurship, human resource management, international business, marketing, and project management.
You'll find careers with small family-owned businesses or some of the world’s largest corporations. Just a few of these corporations include Greenheck Fan, Harley Davidson, Target Corporation, U.S. Bank, Viking Electric, YUM Brands, and 3M.
B.S. Supply Chain Management
Our Supply Chain Management program will teach you the skills to apply the best practices to improve your organization's services and quality, reduce costs and delivery times, and to use related technology.
You'll find career opportunities as an import/export operations leader, process engineer, production scheduler, project manager, quality analyst, or supply chain analyst. Positions in all sizes of the industry are available. Organizations hiring Supply Chain graduates include Abbott, Anderson Windows, Honeywell, Kohler, Medtronic, Polaris, and 3M.
Minors
Business Administration
The Business Administration minor is the most popular minor at UW-Stout. From Apparel Design and Development majors to Mechanical Engineering to Game Design and Development, our students know there is a business aspect of their respected industries and they want to know more.
Digital Marketing
The new Digital Marketing minor recognizes the rapid growth of digital technology and consumer usage. Our courses address the consumer-side and the technology-side of marketing. You'll receive experience in digital marketing strategy and practices, information and communication technology analytics, social media marketing management, and web design and development.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation
The Minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation equips students with the tools to commercialize new innovations, develop ideas within companies and to perform with greater skill at regional, state, and national levels.
Investments & Finance
The Investments and Finance minor's focus on investing and finance will lead to greater success in a wide array of industries and graduate programs as you gain experience in topics such as asset valuation, data analysis, financial accounting, tax incidence, and more that will assist you in providing value along many different dimensions to potential employers.
Sales & Marketing
The Sales & Marketing minor prepares graduates to enter the world of business focused on sales and marketing knowledge. A minor in sales and marketing complements major degree programs across the spectrum. Students will gain sales and marketing knowledge to be successful by giving them an edge over the competition as a selling professional, territory manager, market developer, and many other aspects relating to sales in all industries.
