We're happy to provide a variety of unique services that will support your success and serve as a resource for academic advising, career development and student transition. Together with your academic advisor, you’ll explore your interests, abilities and values. Discover degrees that do more through our six Career Clusters, groups of degree majors that lead to careers with parallel skillsets or interest areas. With 45+ undergraduate majors and 60+ minors to choose from, pair and pursue, your opportunities are endless.

O*Net Interest Profiler
O*Net's suite of career exploration tools are focused on helping you discover the type of work activities and occupations you might find exciting. And to keep things easy, Stout has aligned our Career Cluster degree groups with O*Net's information, so you can apply what you discover without wondering what to do next.
Myers-Briggs Assessment Suite
Once you're enrolled as a student, there are even more tools to help you find your future. Working with a dedicated advisor, you'll be able to complete and decode the results of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Myers-Briggs' Strong Interest Inventory and gain even more insights into your interests, your preferred work style and how your preferences match with UW-Stout's majors and related career paths.
Stout MentorLink
Our mentor program for freshmen pairs incoming freshmen with an upper-class student. Your mentor will provide insight on how to be successful and enjoy your time at UW-Stout. The program can also help you explore a major with a mentor from the program.
Degree Majors Fair
Hosted by the Advisement Center and Career Services, the Major Fair is designed with you in mind. With the help of our Academic Resource Coordinators (ARCs), you will be directed to the career cluster that best fits your interests and career goals. You'll have the opportunity to explore and learn about different UW-Stout programs and if you're ready, we'll assist you in taking steps to declare your major.
Exploratory Classes
These 1-3-credit courses offer a basic introduction to a major and explores what types of jobs you might get after graduation.
Find Your Fit
This program, offered by the Involvement Center, advises undeclared students about the variety of student organizations available related to our majors to assist you in finding your fit.
