Eligibility Requirements
The Pathway Program is available in fall and spring semesters only. To qualify for UW-Stout's ESL Pathway Program, students must complete the courses in Academic Level 3 (ESLI 50/51). Students must achieve a semester average of 87% (B+) or higher and maintain 90% or higher attendance in order to qualify for the program. The ESLI Academic Director with work with the student and their academic program adviser regarding undergraduate enrollment after it is clear that the student will meet the requirements.
Students who achieved a 70 TOEFL or 6.0 IELTS would automatically be eligible to participate in the pathway program as an alternative to taking English 90 (one time only).
