To qualify for UW-Stout's ESL Pathway Program, students must complete academic level 3 (ESLI 50/51/52). Students must maintain a grade point average of 85% or higher in order to qualify for the program. The ESLI director, in partnership with the student and their academic program adviser, will complete the registration form in the final quarter of ESLI 50b/51b allowing qualified students to register.
Students who achieved a 70 TOEFL or 6.0 IELTS would automatically be eligible to participate in the pathway program as an alternative to taking English 90 (one time only).
The pathway program is designed to take one term. Please meet with the ESLI Academic Program director for more details.
