The Dietetic Internship program includes supervised practice rotations.

The Dietetic Internship program includes 1000 hours of supervised practice. 
The following rotations are required:

minimum of 60 meals per day.

Acute care, Hospitals, long-term care

School foodservice (private, public, college)

Community Nutrition – 7 weeksMinimum two sites may have up to three. One must be WIC, and one must be with older adults, such as senior meals.

RDN preferred but not required.

Registered Nurse, certified health educator, appropriately degreed professional

Community-based centers, senior centers, Area Agencies on Aging, Extension, WIC, public health agencies, SNAP.

 

Clinical Nutrition inpatient

9 weeks 

 

One to two sites.

 

Registered Dietitian requiredMust cover acute care hospital, and long-term care.

Clinical Nutrition outpatient

4-5 weeks 

One siteRegistered Dietitian requiredClinic, private practice, dialysis center, bariatric center, outpatient health counseling
