UW-Stout Early Experience is your chance to kick off college life before classes begin. Move in a week early, meet other incoming students, and dive into fun activities that help you feel at home on campus. You’ll explore university resources, build confidence, and get an early start on your college experience.

The UW-Stout Early Experience and its individual subprograms have participant caps, which are met on a first-come, first-served basis until filled. We encourage you to apply early.

Program Eligibility
- Must be admitted to UW-Stout as an incoming first-year student
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll for the upcoming fall semester
- Commit to early move-in and actively participate in the one-week early start experience and academic year support*
- Interest in connecting with peers and campus resources
- Desire to learn about different and diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences and student organizations
*Local commuter students who live within 40 miles of campus are eligible to apply.
Early Experience Orientation
Early Experience Orientation will be part of the following First-Year Registration & Orientation (FYRO) dates. Email invitations to sign up for FYRO will be sent to students' UW-Stout email starting in mid-February. Once your spot is confirmed, please choose and sign up for one of the following FYRO dates:
- June 5, 2026
- June 15, 2026
- June 25, 2026
- Makeup Session: July 10, 2026
